Removing Ehaust return stuff

:confused: I've seen the carb engines that have webers and they don't have that heat/ehaust tube running to the air box. i was wondering if I were to take that tube off of my stock air box, would there be any problems or even advantages?

It's a pre-heater hose... it only sucks in hot air from around the exhaust manifold heat sheild when the intake temp is low. I think the sensor that screws into the intake pipe controls the hot-air door.
