Just wanted to say 'hi.'

I've been lurking around for the past couple months and finally felt like I should make a post.

My name's Chris, and I'm a proud owner of a 1989 LX-i.
She was previously owned by a kid that went to Harvard University, but originally from California. When I got her, she had just under 99k total. Since then, I've brought her up to 102k.

It's obvious that it was broken into before due to leverage dents in the front handle area. So I'm debating whether to get new doorskins or not. (Other then that, just minor denting and barely any surface rust.)

Anyways, I've done most of the basic mods out there to her (Custom CAI, going to leave it as a short ram until it dries up, coil, plugs, wires, secondary disable switch, etc etc.)
and planning to take her to new heights. I come from Toyotaland (Another type of 3g, if you will) and I hope my know-how can benefiet you all (especially myself. ;) )
So come spring, expect a bit more out of me.

Oh, I'm also an old friend of Sabz5150. But I'm sure he doesn't remember me. (Psst. UP$)

Oh yeah, forgot to mention.

I had a MSD Blaster 2 go bad on me yesterday and nearly scare the ever living crap out of me.

I was coming home from a parts store and saw my tachometer jump around like crazy, so I knew I was in a little trouble.

I previously installed a new distributor cap and thought I may have mysteriously knocked the timing out, since she was bucking like a wild stallion on the final stretch back home.

So I pop the cap, crank the engine over to TDC and noticed that the rotor was right on the money. (well, advanced just a tad.)

I was slightly puzzled, so I try to start her up.
No go.

I had my friend come over and stare at the engine with me for a bit.

After pulling the first plug out to double check that I put it in right, I noticed a little bit of a gas smell.

Had him try to crank it over, no spark.

I was a little pissed at first, but I felt kind of dumb afterwards.

See, I mounted it with a metal O-ring. A little too tight, a little too far back.

It squeezed the crap out of it after a few weeks. :uh:

So I hopped in my truck and sped like a motherfucker to Pep Boys. (It was then 8:30 at night, PB closes at 9. It's a half hour away) and had a dipshit try to sell me a coil for a newer Honda distributor.

...No.

They only had an Accel Super Stock, so I nabbed it. I could have sworn they had the price wrong, but anyways. (I got the B2 for $22 at another store.)

So the beast is running again. I'll get a vid or two of her in action sometime soon. =)
