Depends on the color of the car. If it's any shade of brown, then get rid of it right now. If it's a more neutral color like silver, or matches other red highlights on the car, then it should work well.

Also, if the car has non-red pin stripes, the red H is a no-go.

I think you should paint them black. They won't look as flashy, but they'll fit the car a bit better. I never really found red bits to look all that good on a 2nd gen except maybe for brake calipers. Now if you painted the car red, that would be another story.
