Get a integra b18a manifold. It'll be alot cheaper and the same, if not more of a gain.

How hard is that to adapt. And about how much will it run me.

Whaaat? a b18a manifold will fit the a20?

But wait a second, why would a 1.8l manifold be any better than a 2l manifold?

How hard would it be to do a swap?

It fits, I know that, but I have never done the swap I run carbs why would I use an efi manifold . There was a guy on the af board for a little bit who had a a20a powered crx who told me about this, but he didnt know which integra motor it was. I started to look into manifold swaping to find a 2xDCOE manifold to mount my carbs. I found that the b18a manifold's flange will go right onto an a20a with slight mods, you have to drill 2 holes in it, nothing major. Also a b16a manifold will fit if you're willing to drill a few more holes. I know what you're thinking about why would swaping a 1.6 or a 1.8 manifold onto a 2.0 be a gain, but manifold isnt sized to the displacement of the motor, its sized to the ouput and the power band of the motor. The b18a has shorter larger runners, a larger plenum volume, and a bigger throttle body. It's desigend for a motor that makes slightly more power and to make that power higher on the powerband. You put that manifold on there and your going to feel some gains to your top end, just like you would if you had your tb and manifold ported. The diference is you can get the b18a stuff at a junkyard instead of paying out the butt to have your stock stuff modified. The ports on a b18a are slightly larger then the a20a so the car will benefit from a good port match to the head, but thats not required to use the manifold. This also measn that you can use some of the aftermarket manifolds like the skunk2 (thats the only one that comes to mind off hand but I know there are others). I wouldn't put money into one of those unless you have some head porting and a cam done first though. The last thing I can think of is you can use the b18c spec r manifold, its only the spec r or type r or what ever (the one they like to swap onto the b16a) not the regular b18c.

I had a link to a site that detailed the swaps, but I lost my hard drive the other nite and I don't have any of my book marks anymore :/. If someone has it please post it.

the dual stage manifold on the 88-89 lxis makes it very easy for u to port and polish on your own. with modification and a bored tb it will out flow any b18 manifold.

    whats the manifold like...

i was wondering what the manifold on b20a is like and is it worth while changing on a stock engine or not?

the problem is that there are turbo evrythings everywhere ...

thats why i was deciding to do something which hasnt been done over here yet(4 door accords are just not in)

but i like to be different..thats why i was considering doing a nitous setup after i do intake and exhaust

with no cat you would be freaking loud, and with the performance muffler u would be blowing the cop's sound meter off man. :lol :lol . yep, its way stricter here. even the dude with a new mustang (2002) had his car rejected for reasons unknown . i am scared about my car too. once i am done with my efi conversion, i dont wanna be fucked up just cause some shit is not fitted good.

    Cool

I asked the muffler places if it was illegal to remove / gut your cat...they told me, if you remove it, and you get caught, it's a $3000 fine

    (about $1500 US)

But they did tell me how to gut my cat

The dude was saying, you'd get away with that, since cats naturally gut them selves over time.

Once I get enough for my exhaust upgrade, which I want LOUD!

I will gut my cat, or replace it with a fake cat.

I want loud but deep Bassy sounds.

My stock exhaust sounded mint after I upgraded the air intake system.

I found the site that has the info for the swaps. http://www.g-speed.com/pbh/b16a/. The swap to the a20a is similar to the b18a except you have to drill two more holes in the flange and you don't have to worry about the water jacket. If you are going to bring over an intake from japan it might as well be the b18c 96 spec.R that they are talking about. You can get a us spec b18a manifold from a junkyard for much less then $100.
