B18c1 swap since 7/2011
175whp and 132tq
Redzone tuned
Damn that is awesome! Should be so sweet!
Got my spare B2K5 B20A gearbox apart today and started installing the Quaife ATB LSD.
For future reference the Browntop ZC, A20A and B20A gearboxes share the same diff as all open diff b series gearboxes (cable or hydro) Except B18C/R. The quaife LSD i have is for an EG6. Shares the same 10X130 ring gear bolt pattern as many other b series hondas.
Started off by undoing the bolts and the bung on the end and prying apart the circlip to get the top casing off.
Then after that i removed the two gear shafts keeping them together so i dont have to fuck around assembling 78345238945 gears/bearings again. Since im only swapping the diff.
now i have the diff out i can swap the crown wheel from the POS open diff to the new LSD
thats all tonight. will reassemble tomorrow.
How do people manage to tear open a transmission without breaking anything lol they look so complicated.
a few pics of the gearbox swap in case anyones interested. Removing the open diff F2K5
Old box (cleaner than the new box)
New B2k5 with LSD. dirtyer than the old box
The old axles were a bit "Used" The boots were ripped and one outer had excessive play. So i put my spare axles in.
I must have done something right. The car drives flawlessly and when powering around a corner theres no more one wheel understeering action!
Great work!

Hai chaps. Did some work on this today. My mate was ordering some bushes for various cars he has from the USA so i got in and told him to get me a shifter bushing kit, swaybar endlink kit and a "Strut rod" kit. All polyurethane bushes from energy suspension.
Pics:
Old Bushes:
Strut rod bushes:
And while i was under there i found this:
Both Lower control arm inner bushes are completely fucked. Metal on metal spec with bugger all rubber left on them. Wish i looked under the car before i ordered the bushings.
Got your moneys worth outta those bushing.
The strut rod bushing are a great great upgrade.

Haha. cant see a reason to remove them. The axles are stock 250,000kms items still from a parts car. The car feels better to drive with the bushigns but im sure the lower control arm ones will help too haha
Looking real good! I'm jealous of your new dif. that would be an awesome mod to have,

fair enough with new axles i would do the same. not that ill ever need new axles
those lower control bushings stock? I saw a bit red on the side.
200+ ALL MOTOR LS VTEC
yeah stock 250,000km ones from my old accord. they are black. the red is rusty from the metal on metal action.
got a parts car today. a 2.0Si exclusive model with the leather seats etc. Since the interior colour is the same as the f1 edition interior i can use bits off this to tidy up the missing and broken bits i have that annoy me daily.
Heres some pics of the car after the guy dropped off today. Pretty rough but good.
No pics of todays work but i removed the floor mats seats carpet and door cards, then i proceeded to use the hot water blaster and clean the carpet. it is now drying. hopefully it will look as good as new ish
Ship me teh engine kthx
I dig the hell out of that interior!
