Lower my car?

I just got bigger rims and omg my car looks like a 4x4. I have tons of clearance in the wheel well, so what do I need to drop this thing a couple inches?? What equipment do I need and how much to get it back down to earth??

It depends on how much of a drop will make you happy and if you want performance or just for looks.

1.0", 1.5", 2.0" and 2.25" Which drop do you want? (They will cost anywhere from $97 to $199).

Plus when you lower you car more than 1.5" you will need to correct the camber angle of you car with a camber kit's. $250+.(or the insides of your tire will go bald quickly)



Also since any lowering spring is stiffer, you'll need struts that are likewise stiffer. Consider tokico H.P.'s as the starting point $235 from shox.com. Moving up in firmnesss/sportiness (and price) means Koni specials, $424+free shipping also at shox.com

get the sprint 2.25 lowering springs....new struts and a camber kit and yopu will be good to go ...

I remember someone on the old board mentioning that the 88 prelude si's have a camber kit you can adapt to the 3geez. Is this true?

I belive its the 87(?) Prelude's upper A arms that are semi adjustable (more than enough though)

Get the front upper control arms from any 2gen prelude (84-87).All you will need is 4 larger washers to convert. Really cheap compared to the camber kits you would have to get from somplace else

I think I already know the answer to this, but the sprint 2.25" springs are the lowest springs that we can get, right??? This is aside from coilovers, etc.........

Depends on if the car is a daily driver or not. 2.5" is the lowest I'd go. If it's for show, etc., get a set of coilovers and slam that bitch 3-4".

Make sure you get some good struts to handle the drop. Remember you will need camber kit or prelude arms too. There is a washer trick you can do in the rear for camber adjustment.

I've heard of 3 & 4" drops.

I am looking @ the dropzone springs for my 88 LX-i. What struts did you use with them and how was the ride?

I have eibach Sportline springs I love these springs I never hear anyone on the board speak of them but I give props these springs are great just my 2 cents

I second that, back when I had my 87 Accord, I had Eibach Sportline springs and Koni Stuts/Shocks. What a difference those springs made for driving, it definitely gave my car a much better handling.

Alright well, both of my front springs are cracked and I am replacing them anyways, so I was wondering if I got lowering springs that are 1-1.5 inch drop then I will be fine if I keep my same struts that I have on there already? btw the struts were replaced within the last year and a half so I don't wanna replace them just yet. sorry if it's a stupid question, I don't know all that much about suspension. Basically all I'm asking is... Is 1-1.5 inch drop the lowest you can go without getting new struts?. thanks

To do it the right way, you can lower it about 0" on stock struts. You will over work the struts you have and they will blow much quicker. When those go, you can get some Tokico's or revalved Bilsteins.

wait i'm curious to... i want to lower my accord but i want to do it the RIGHT way... i don't want to do some messed up thing thats gonna make my ride all all screwy... was that a typo on the 0" on stock struts? i know little to nothing about suspension and what not.. i'm poor right now lol i don't have the money to throw into it yet, but... can i go 1" or 1.5" on stock and have it be okay?

0" was not a typo. Stock struts cannot handle the extra stiffness of aftermarket lowering springs.
