    Carrotman! - Conversion ?

DO You know what exactly the difference between the efi alt. and the carbed alt. is .
I know that the efi has one more wire, but what is that wire and is it really neccesary to change the alt in the conversion, or can you get around it .
Just curiuos because I just replaced the altenator with a new one a while back .

The difference is the voltage controll regulator it is connected to the adapter you midgt be able to just swich that part out. You can but them new at any auto parts store. And Yes I know for sure that they are physically interchangeable.

Yeah the extra wire is a voltage reading the ECU needs.

You might be able to swap that part.

I don't know in detail what it does tough and if you can get this around. The best way would be to check the wiring diagram and see if you can rig something.

and like 1988starter said, you can buy that at an auto store.
