The crank angle sensor in my distributor died a few days ago. I wound up using the distributor off of an 87 Prelude 2.0si as a replacement. After I installed it and adjusted the timing, I could feel a significant power increase right at 4000 RPM, much more kick than normal. Is there something special about the Lude's distributor, or is this just from me having a dying distributor for a long time?

It has more mechanical advance then an accord one.

Cool :)

What other engine parts are good to get from a Lude 2.0si? Besides the tranny :p

I also have the Prelude's ECU under my seat. Still don't know exactly what differences there are between the two, might know what to do what that extra ignition advance? Who knows :p

As far as I know, the distributors are pretty similar (if not the same) but the advance on your old one coulda been shot. My distributor's advance mechanism completely locked up right before it died, and gave me nearly 0 advance. Both are vacuum advance/retard

i think the Lude ecu has a much better flow rate in the injectors compared to the accord one. But i am guessing u were using the distributor and the ecu from the second gen lude (87 like u said). They had the A20 motor.

The ECU doesn't affect the flow rate of the injectors, it just controls how long they open for each cycle.

yeah but is there a difference between lude and accord computers that anybody knows of?
