Repairing sunroof?

Hi guys, new here... My dad gave me his '88 (which was once my grandfathers and before that owned by an uncle of mine... quite the family car) and mechanically, it's pretty good. The only thing that needs work is the interior and the exterior. It has gotten into a couple of bad accidents (and some water damage) but aside from the usual rust and a leak somewhere, it's okay.

According to my dad, the sunroof motor is burnt out. Any guides on how to get to it? It's not in the Hayes manual.

I'd check the relays and fuse then the switch first before suspecting the motor itself.

You gotta remove the headliner to get to the motor which is why its easier to rule out the rest of the components first before going to that.
