I have the factory AM/FM radio that came with my DX car and have the opportunity to get the SE-i audio steering wheel controls, do you guys think there is a way to make it work.

Actually let me add more to this. What i plan on doing is having the factory radio for the AM/FM radio. Then have a MP3 player of some kind for all my music. All of this will run through an amplifier. So i will have the radio input on the high input and the mp3 player on the rca inputs of the amp. Maybe i could get the steering wheel controls to adjust the volume on the amp (which would control the volume for both devices) and either switch presets on the radio or skip the song on the mp3 payer.

I doubt you can make this work... If you want to make the se-i controls work with an aftermarket radio, that can generally be done pretty easily as long as the radio has a remote or remote input you just need an adapter for steering wheel controls. The problem with most factory radios is they do not have that input, and without it there usually is no way to have the controls input into it.

I was thinking i may be able to hard wire the switch to the actual button on front of the stereo but im not sure how the steering wheel control buttons work, if they are on/off switches or show different resistances. I may be able to make a circuit to convert it but thats a little over my head. Also for the MP3 player it could be hard wired to those headphones control buttons.
