Okay, I'm working on my interior and I have a problem. I already have some of my interior parts painted and I'm painting the whole console red. Here's my problem: what color shift/e-brake boot and what color shift knob? I was thinking about black shift/e-brake boots with either a red shift knob that matches the color of the console or an aluminum shift knob with the gear pattern engraved in red. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. :help:

those are great color combo's... maybe try a white bag or somethin neutral? it would break the color up a bit!

Thanks for all of the suggestions!!! I got the console in today and it looks great. Right now I've just got the stock black shift boot/knob and it looks really good. The only problem is the gray e-brake handle. Unlike other cars we can't put new e-brake handles on our cars (correct me if I'm wrong). Does this mean I will have to get a boot that covers the whole handle all the way up to the button? If so, where can I get one. Thanks again!!

Get a brake handle from a civic. It will bolt in and you can change the handle.

I checked at the wredking yard yesterday and the 3g accord parking brake is sifferent from every other honda in the yard. I checked 2 &3 gen Preludes, 2,3,4 &5gen civics 1 &2 gen integras, 2g accords they allare interchangeable with each other, the 3G bolts to the floor pan exactly opposite and isnt interchangeable. sorry for the miss information.

The paint wont stick to that shift knob for very long, its going to chip and look bad after a while. The shiftboot wont handle it very well either becaue of the constant flexing of shifting.

Nate, I haven't painted the knob or the boot, just the plastic console. Whiteboy, painting the brake handle worries me because I'm afraid that the constant pulling of the e-brake will wear the paint off and it will chip. Anybody ever painted their brake handle and if so what were the results?

The plastic cover on the E brake can be cut off then the grip part can be changed.
It has been done on my car with a security lock built into the e brake.

That's pretty slick AERODECKUK, I assume that if somebody wants to steal your car, they would have to know the combination to release the brake...pretty smart. Anyway, back to the subject, to cut the plastic handle and install a custom handle, does the shaft in the middle have to be threaded or how does that work. I've never put an e-brake handle on so I'm kind of dumb on the subject.
