hey whats up everyone just thought id go and start a build thread of my 86 hatchback that i had recently traded for. i traded for it know it was a project car, i got the car from new jersey and towed it back to connecticut with a uhaul truck lol. the a20a3 that was in the car i guess the piston rings were shot on it and it pretty much pissed the oil out. i cant be too sure on that because i havent seen the car run just yet, ive had the car for about a month and a half give or take a few days. first thing i had to do was replace the dashboard as the old one was completely smashed up and broken everywhere, from there i moved onto removing the old motor and transmission and just got around to cleaning and reassembling the passenger seat lol. dropping in the new motor and transmission is going very slowly because i currently am not working and there were a few parts i had to buy including the front and rear motor mounts and a new clutch release bearing. so without further due lets get into some pics ive taken since i got the car.

thanks man, and i wouldnt really say complicated, i had the dash replaced just a few days after i got the car and the motor only took me like an hour to pull out. if have the new one in already but i had to but all new motor mounts as all of the old ones were broken when i pulled the motor out. also had to order a new release bearing since there wasnt one with the new clutch that came with it. i guess the transmission that was in it would grind 3rd gear so it came with another transmission which were not sure if its a good one or not, which im hoping it is cause then ill have to wait a bit to get the car on the road since id have to get another tranny. other then that the biggest thing i have to do is paint the car lol, idk how it was painted before but it looks like shit and it seems like a bad plasti dip or something, i was walking around the car just breaking chipped parts of the paint off the car. then im pretty much just gotta do the simple maintenance stuff and itll be all set for daily use for awhile so i can rebuild the motor on my cb7.

Are you rebuild your hatchback by yourself...?
For me,thats a lot of work..headache...:)
Dont worry about your 'biggest thing'...heheheh
I think what is important, your car can move on the road first...:)
Just all finish then a new thought about painting,accessories...etc..

yeah im reviving it on my own, all i have to do to have it road ready is drop the new motor in. but i'm kinda waiting on doing that just so i can get some other regular maintenance items. the motor going into is has zero miles on it as it was only used for display or something at a automotive school so its never actually even been in a single car. and yeah lol i wouldn't say paint is the biggest thing but its the most annoying thing about it to me lmfao. everything else isn't too bad and with the whole motor and transmission stuff its cake walk since i've gained a'lot of experience from all the work i've done on my cb7, its not exactly the same but it helps. i've lost count of how many times i've taken the motor out of that thing lmfao.

well i got the hatch up and running a few weeks ago now just dealing with one big problem, its only running on 3 cylinders. last thing im gonna try and replace is the fuel injector, since ive replaced everything else so far. i can remove the spark plug wire on cylinder 3 with very little difference on how the car runs so im hoping maybe the injector is clogged.
