My car won't start. I dont hear the fuel pump and the PGM-Fi light doesn't come one when it is supposed before you turn on the car. I've just replaced the main relay and the fuel pump is 4 months old. What's wrong?

Does it even crank?
Check battery, battery terminals, ground wires, starter wire. Assuming it's not fuel related.

Check your connections to your battery, or maybe your battery is dead :(

Be sure and check all your fuses -- under the dash and under the hood. Since the light isn't coming on, it sounds like it may be a fuse problem.

How long ago did you replace the main relay? Was it right away as soon as you put it in that the car wouldn't start? Might not be plugged in tightly or something

if it cranks so the starter and the grounds are ok !
you better check if there is fuel reaching the engine !
but i don't know where is the gas hose on an EFI ! :(

But I don't hear the Fuel pump running or the Main relay click.

if the main relay doesn't click, that's why your fuel pump isn't going. did you check your fuses? there should be a fuse for the fuel pump/main relay udner the dash.

Tested the fuel pump and it works. But what funny is that those ring noses you are supposed to hear when you put the key in the 2nd positon don't ring. But i took out the Turn Signal and Back up light fuse and it starts ringing. And the main relay sarts to buzz. Wierd.

I was working on my car last weekend and found out that the fuse you were talking about on my car is not there. I put a spare fuse in, I don't see any difference anywhere.

i don't know much.. but my timing belt just poped on me last week and the car didn't start when it did. so that might be the problem.

Check the timing belt and it is still good? But i still need to change once i get the car going again.

Dude

Buy a chiltons or haynes manual. This list can go on forever.

If the crank cranks over fine, the battery and starter are good.

You check for spark? My car did not start last month... turned out to be just a cap and rotor.

How do you know if your cap and rotor are bad?

Well, check whether you got spark or not. If not, pull the cap and rotor and check for wear on the contact points , or tiny hairline cracks. Its a good idea to change the cap and rotor at about 60k-100k miles anyway.

Sounds like you are not 100% sure if your no-start condition is fuel or ignition related though, correct? Thats the first step.

Pretty sure it's fuel related since I don't here the fuel pump turn on or the Main relay click. So its something electrical.

try another main relay. even though you already replaced it before, maybe it went bad again. actually, test it first. if you have the haynes manual it tells you how to do it in there. if not i can get mine an tell you how... or maybe someone with a scanner(there's pics for the pins...)

I was messing with the fuses and the main relay and out of no where the PGM-fi light comes on and I hear the fuel pump. So i took it out for a test drive and half way down the street the check light comes on and the rpm's drop down and the car dies. Now the car doesn't turn on and I'm where i started and the beginning.
