Congratulations!

I am glad that the information I posted was of service to you. You are right, the fuse box does not have to be removed, but its removal prevents you from looking like a contortionist in the middle of the drive way  :D . The only real problem with getting the fuse box out is getting to the two nuts that hold it to the dash, and then managing to remove them without losing any parts. ;) Once that is done, you can slide it out of there, disconnect all wiring(BTW, the connectors that are attached to the fuse box sides are removable with a flat screw driver) and put it somewhere where it doesn't run the chance of being stepped on or otherwise damaged.

I also looked into my motor and it seemed pretty clean in there so I left it alone. In your case, if it was really dirty, the motor was probably getting stalled by all the crud in there.

Good job on the pics!

Now the number of 3geez members with working antennas has increased by one. :smokin:

maka_RTH,

If your antenna moves only a little, then it is probably in need of some oiling. You can use plain motor oil or something like WD-40 for this. Personally I preffer motor oil cause I don't have to spray it on a part that is less than 1/4 of an inch. Can you actually get the antenna to move fully if you help the motor with your hand? If so, it needs to be oiled.

My $.02 for now.

With the excitement of great news, I bet the fixed antenna probably gave you extra horsepowers, did it?

ACCORD EX,

I am always glad to help out a fellow motorist(especially with a 3G :flash: ).

89LXiCoupe,

Horsepower?...I somewhat doubt that, at least not the kind that can be applied to the road, but aerodynamics were really improved.(j/k)
Just looks a lot more slick on the street with the antenna not permanently extended and kinked to "prevent" it from "accidentally" retracting again by some punk :burn:. And now I can lower or extend my antenna slightly for better reception. :D:stick:.

So basically if you want horsies, don't try to gain them by installing a high perforemance antenna on your car . Not gonna help.

I hope you know I was just kidding about the horses. Well, it is great news that you have your antenna working. Mine works too, but I hardly use it so it's always down.

Mine doesn't work. I think the white cord thing is snapped. I can hear the motor working (winding noise) but it doesn't go up or down. How do you fix just the cord part?

Mike's89AccordLX,

I don't know if it is possible to fix a broken drive cable. I seriously doubt that possibility because the cable is of a certain length and has to be continuous. Of course if the cable snapped right or very close to the stopper on the end of the cable, you might be able to reposition the stopper or fabricate your own to the still continuous part of the cable. Try looking in the junkyard. The antenna is a PITA to get out especially in junkyard conditions, but that would be the easiest way to fix your antenna.

Of course you could always just leave it up, or use it as a manual antenna.

Hope I helped out. :)

P.S.: 89LXiCoupe,

I do realize that you were not serious about horsepower, just went along with your humor.:smokin:
