Sometimes when I'm driving, my amp to my subs will cut out. This happens when I brake, then when I hit the gas, the subs come back on. Is this an alternator or battery problem? I am in college, and only drive my car on the weekends, and it does it more when I first drive it, then later into the weekend after I have driven it more, it tends to go back to normal. Thanks.

Maybe your amp turn on wire is loose or somthing, how much power are you running, like amp watts?>

mine was doing the same thing, turns out my battery was bad. Verify your alternator is putting out 14.5-14.6v while running, also check all wiring and mabe possilby think about using a cap with your amp.

p.s. that was running 2 12" off of a 300w (150x2)

:pimp: peace out

It's most likely the alternator like you mentioned, but I highly doubt it will ever measure over 14volts.

Weight does shift when braking and accelerating so it could be just the wire. My friends amp cuts in and out cuz of the wire.

like everyone said "check the wire". it doesn't cost you anything.
than take it to autoparts store (i know autozone has that mashine) and ask them to check your alternator while your car running.

you doubt yours will or the 3g alternator in general? cause mine measures a good 14.6v while running at 900-1000rpm with no heater or stereo

mine measures at 14.5V even when i have stereo on.

Well, I don't think it is a loose wire because I can sit at a red light and rev my engine to make the amp come back on, and all the wires seemed pretty tight. I will go to a auto store soon to get the battery and alternator checked. Thanks.

Is just your amp cutting out? Because sometimes your amp or headunit has a safety cut off if you run your volume too high and your speakers cannot handle that volume, that way you do not blow your speakers.
