As long as they have 4x100 bolt pattern. Try to find out what offset they are if you're currently looking at a set.
I am running BBS wheels, which are common on BMW and VW, and they fit perfect.
Check out the Wheels & Tires thread for useful info about aftermarket wheels: http://www.3geez.com/forum/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes/48188-wheels-tires.html

I had E30 Bottlecaps on my 3G, looked great because they really follow the body lines. 2G should look and fit fine.

If those are OE BBS wheels, then they should be crazy light too. They will definitely be a genuine and noticeable performance upgrade.

Mine are OE wheels off a VW, they actually have a VW stamp on them next to the center cap.
I run 195/50r15 which is nearly identical to stock diameter so my speedometer is right on.
I weighed them when I first got them to compare to stock steelies but of course I don't remember the difference now.

Update: I weighed my wheels when I was bleeding the breaks.
BBS with tires = 34.5 lbs
OE steels & tires = 30 lbs
