After finally moving and digging the car out of a snowstorm, I have some half way decent pics of my new (at least to me) car. I didnt have time to clean out the interior because I had to wash the outside of the Accord. (priorities!!) Anyways, Here are the specs:

Engine: DOHC 4 cam 32 valve V-8
Horsepower: 282 hp
Torque: 295 FT/Lbs
Transmission: ZF 5 Speed Automatic
0-60 Acceleration time: 6.7 sec.
Top Speed: 149 mph (Electronically limited) Now 171 mph with my new chip that eliminates the electronic governor.

Here's a pic of my Accord after it got buried in the same snow storm. Notice my nice company car in the background. (The Malibu)

it's nice to see that you bought a beater for everyday so that you can preserve the 3gee for weekends. it's gonna be embarrassing driving that old thing around everyday, but when it preserves the life of the 3gee it'll all be worth it. nice.

Remember, the Maclaren F1 has basically the same engine as this car, it just has 4 more cylinders. (It goes 231 mph in naturally aspirated form.) BMW went to great lengths to detune this engine so that it would get decent(meaning passable) gas mileage. The new chip supposedly ups the horsepower to around 330 hp and changes the torque curve. Someone said that a Viper will only do about 170. That is in stock form. Im sure with a little remapping, it will do a lot more. I also cannot help that Chrysler builds an inferior motor. This car is meant for high speed autobahn running. The car will get up to 120 so fast, it's scary. Remember also, A viper is also designed to accelerate a lot harder than my car. My car in no way accelerates like a Viper. It does however have the ability to eat a lot of imports at the stop light. I have surprised an older Vette too. The only bad thing about this new chip is that I get terrible gas mileage with it.

Also, the transmission on the car has an automatic and a manual mode on it. Its the switch on the left side of the shifter in the 4th pic down. Flipping that switch to manual eliminates any automatic upshifts. The car will effectively hold a gear until you manually upshift it. When you start in like 2nd gear, the computer remaps the shifting pattern for a more sporty acceleration pattern. It's pretty damn cool if you ask me. Oh btw. Yasu guessed my car on the first guess pretty much.

yea but your not really ever gona go 171 mph are you ? ...the car looks like its in very good shape...one thing though ...i dont like the wheels that are on the bmw...do you plan on getting some new ones ? ...anyway nice choice

i actcually like those wheels. more and more i am liking cars that look stock. but i love the tire size on those wheels. a mile wide and just enough sidewall to make them look bad ass.

but that would kill some performance and handling.

i like my stock 13s on my accord, if i ever got rims it would be 15s

nice call on the bmw man. those things can really go fast, trust me, experiance!! haha, my 86' alone has already 190-200hp on it. u don't really have to rice that car up anymore. that thing'll brute force most cars in races. if ur feeling adventurous, you could always try to do a headlight conversion to make it look like the newer ones!! haha
urs looks like a 92-95??? and i'm assuming 5 series?

Thanks for the kind comments regarding my car. I forgot to mention that the car is a 94' 540i. The only mod on the car that I am aware of is that the car had the Dinan High Performance cam swap done by the original owner. The car also has a 740i 5 speed automatic transmission. It is a heck of a car. I don't intend to mod it up too much more. The car drives like a dream and really has wayyyyy too much horsepower. The only downside to all this power is really shitty gas mileage. You have to run high octane in the car too or it wont run right. (91 octane bare min.) I love that acceleration though.

PS. I was told buy the guy at Dinan that with a rear end gear swap, I could get another 30 mph on the top end. (This is because of the horsepower I should be getting from the chip and the cam swap.)

Dinan makes some good stuff although expensive. My uncle has a MZ3 and its nice and he had the dealer put on a bunch of Dinan aftermarket stuff (Single Tip dual exhaust, CF CAI, and i think a chip) on top of that they added a spoiler and hard top. Nice car but he beats the crap out of it.

ah, bmw. my step dad had one. it was a 325IX. u couldnt get the wheels to spin cuz of the 4WD. but damn it, that thing was quick with its inline 6. by the way, i have a matchbox car exactly like your black beemer. same color and wheels. that would be cool if u had it. neway i think u can tune your bmw at the dealership actually. im guessing that since a few people i know got performance parts for theirs. does your 3gee realy have that much power? or are u just jokein.

i forgot to mention, at my local bmw dealership, i know the general manager. his mom lives next door to me so i think he could hook me up with a good price on a car from there. hes been driving a new 740i. it has everything u could need in a car. i kinda want the M coupe. it looks like a hatch. this guy at a local speed shop has a 99. its pretty nice but too damn expensive to get insurance on.
