Hi all!

Some days before I bought this accord with another spare part car. (Video linked)
This is an european version with 1601 ccm engine. ( I need service manual in pdf if anybody have)
The early second gen. accords are very rare type in europe.

As you see it has lots of problem. Fortunately these parts on the spare car are good.
I would like to restore until 11.2015. because the MOT will expire on that time.
At first I tried to repair the electric antenna on the roof but i can't remove the inside carpet. :( I worried about wrack.
Anyway, this car is amazing and good to belong to this club.
/Sorry for my bad english/

Wow man. That is a clean looking car! Shame about the rust though. Are you planning on stripping off all the paint and getting rid of the rust? You have got your work cut out for you. Good luck! Welcome to the site!

Post more updates as you work on it. :) Would love to see your progress!

Thank You 2ndGenGuy! As I see you are a strong point in the club and evryone has a kind word.
Yesterday I took it to car mechanic changing oil, filters, belts.
He cloncuded it some shaft and suspension exchange necessary.(Crackle on bend)
Next year I will bring the spare car (from 300 Km - about 187 Miles) and will be replaced if possible.
Of course I replace the two fender arch and try to repaint to the original color whole car.

Other: I dont know why all kind of classic hondas ('70 and early '80s) cheaper like other japanese cars (Datsun, Mitsubishi, Mazda) here in Europe.
My first dream was a very rare 1977 Datsun 120y coupe, but the cheapest was 2300 Euro (3000 USD) in Polland (625 miles faar from Hungary).
I bought this accord in my country about 750 USD :) + 370 USD spare car ! I dont regret my decision however avaible more parts on the shop and cheaper. It can also satisfies my japanese oldtimer obsession. :)
only one litle thing : - would have been nice a rear wheel drive.... :)

I will update this thread if happens something!

I found an another co-brand in my country!
Here is his blog:
JDM Jinsei (http://jdmjinsei.blogspot.hu/search?updated-max=2011-02-22T21:58:00%2B01:00&max-results=6&reverse-paginate=true)
on the bottom: újabb bejegyzések=new posts régebbi bejegyzések=older posts, tovább olvasom=continue reading

His car was on the "rozsdakupac" magazin in 2012.
Banpei.net Magazines: Honda Accord in Rozsdakupac » Uncategorized » Banpei.net (http://www.banpei.net/2012/01/31/magazines-honda-accord-in-rozsdakupac)

Unfortunately he sold his car and started a subaru project :(
I will try to find the buyer who has 3 of same , allegedly. (First the new bought, second to daily using, third to spare)

I count my known hatchback. 8 so far. In my opinion here are maybe about 20 or maximum 30 piece of it.

The orange color button of the radio is same color like right next temperature adjuster :) (fit together)
I can't found original Honda stereo. In Germany (where from arrived these car to Hungary) the original radio equipment was "Blaupunkt Coburg M21".

I wonder if that seat is going to sit funky with some of the foam being old and tired. Let us know please.

I love watching this project unfold.

Turan6
11-10-2014, 12:20 AM
Seat :
At first i had to hold up left side with old t-shirt.:) I used upholsterer's foam-glue.
Than I started to use Flex-foam.
The upholsterers also using this pourable foam.
Autó ülések restaurálása (http://www.autokarpitozas.hu/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=39&Itemid=79)
It has diferent strong. I used X. strong level.
This material surface is more harder like the original seat foam, so i cut with blade (Inside the purable foam is softer). Other hand, cut is necessary to forming the surface.
I feel a litle difference with two foam, and the flex-foam feel better.

Than I glued a thin level foam so as to starched carpet. This glue made it harder the original foam.
If this thin level will care with original carpet than i hope not will be old and tired.

At last I will rope some spring line under the foam for harder seat sense.

Door carpet:
Under the window I also change the foam. Now less wavy.
I found leather behind door-serge to change the armrest area.

(sorry for my english)

Only with "stabbing?!" flame works !!!!!! - with narrower (Don't use lighters, matches, candles or other)
First I will try a waste bumper part. :)
Would be great if it works....

"Stabbing flame" is rough translation. I dont know the right english word.

Dr_Snooz
11-22-2014, 06:59 PM
I think the word you're looking for is "torch." Some people have had good luck with that approach. I tried a heat gun and it didn't do a whole lot. Acetone was pretty effective for me, but not long term. I'll probably end up painting mine.

...someday.

Let us know how it turns out.

Turan6
11-23-2014, 07:55 AM
In that video he mentioned; heat gun is also not working!
The purpose is: you don't heat full plastic in deep, only the surface. This is the rason why necessary "fast" torch-flame. Supposedly this is long therm solution.
I also used aceton on door rubber molds after disassemble of course.Worked pretty well.

I will buy flame heater and report it.

There was a cold start guide.
Could anybody help me where can i find.

Oldblueaccord
12-30-2014, 03:02 AM
Should be able to press the gas pedal down about 1/4 throttle then release. This should set the choke almost closed.

Foot OFF the gas pedal. No more gas pedal needed.

Crank the car. It should start and idle high when cold.

Pressing the gas pedal quickly will lower the idle and release more of the choke open.

A carbed car will need to run for 2-5 mins in that cold of weather if possible.

I'm trying to find a good you tube but there most of the people are doing it incorrectly and then there vehicle wont start!

Anyone know what is the role of the pipe separator in fuel system?
Number 13. here:
OEM Honda Part 17721-SA6-316 | Separate Pipe (http://hondapartsnetwork.com/part/2830859/Honda-Part-17721-SA6-316-Separate-Pipe)

Cruumbled in my hands. I would like to know which pipe connected to which one and is there any connection (open hole) in common location? Maybe I can make up for something else. Fabricate one....
Thank you!

Dr_Snooz
03-08-2015, 08:08 AM
Those are the lines that eventually supply the carb, right? There are a bunch of rubber lines that come out of the tank and connect to hard lines going to the front of the car. One goes to the fuel filters and then the carb. One goes to the charcoal canister. I don't know where the others go though. Can you be more specific as to what your issue is? I assume you have something rotted away that you're trying to re-connect but some pics or explanation would be helpful.

Turan6

Here is the picture of pipe separator.
2+2 pipes coming in the direction of fuel tank. In the end there are only 3 pipes. I dont know is there open hole (connection) in the common location or not.

The fuel tank is divided into portions. When the liquid (fuel) is waving these pipes help to compensate. Air flows in them.
