ok guys recently i have developed a miss in my idle. the idle also moves slighty below 1000rpm to slighty above 1000rpm at idle.

what should i check to find out my problem. give me a list if ya can. 1 have 190,000 and im pretty sure my timing belt has probably only been changed once in its life. so there the ifo what do you think?:sadwave:

have you looked at your plugs. maybe your plug wires are just not on tight enough.

Another thing could be that one of your plug wire is hitting your hood. that could make the spark jump from of the wire and into the hood never getting to the plug.

ok so im a moron. do i have to use a spark plug puller to get the plug out. and lets say its my plug what am i looking for. i.e. broken plug, carbon deposits covered plug.

Is it physically possible for a car to run 190000 miles without changing the timing belt at least once? The most miles ive heard of without changing the belt before it blew were like 150000 miles? What do you guys think?

How do you tell if your engine is missing. Not physically but... not igniting... you know... yea...

all i know is that my car seems to shake about every 1.5 to 2 seconds. does this have anything to do with firing order. cuz i do know that my mounts are bad.

I had to replace my timing belt at 114000 miles. I think if it's at idle and goes from 1000 to about 650 then jumps to 1000 and keeps doing this, I think it's just your choke kicking in. I just got my Weber put on and it does this. I'm going to adjust the idle speed tomorrow so its always above 1000rpms.

You don't need spark plug puller, just pull the wires at the boot. You'll need spark plug socket to get the plugs out.
I think quite a few ppl are trying to find out these half misses in their car during idle, read the other threads. It doesn't seem to be electrical.
Good luck.

And 1k rpm idle is too high.

yes my miss is at warm idle. i read almost every thread that goes on this board. i am on here for at least 10- 12 hours a day (im on at work). yes i have already professed my addiction in the addiction thread. i just need a list of stuff to check if someone could give it to me. i dont recall running across a thread like that.
