I just signed up and i love this placed i came across it 4 hours ago and havent got off yet.

Anyways i was wondering if someone that has done the B20A5 swap can tell me what all i need besides a Engine and Tranny and ECU. Ive got questions like will the axles off the original work on the lude tranny? What about all the under the hood electronics and stuff? Will i have to change the fuel pump?Any insite would be greatly appreciated. I want to know ahead of time so i dont get half way through and have to wait for weeks for parts to arrive.

The B20a5 engine will require a lot of work to fit.
The engine mounts etc are all differant.
The engine you need is the B20a from a 86-89accord.

And if your gonna do the swap its gonna take some preparation and time i wouldnt expect to do it in just a few weeks. As for parts i am working on 3 different distributors as the pricing will all vary a bit. I have been spending a lot of time looking up all the info on this and working on the fine details of the swap. I can tell you the most information is on this board in this topic so i would just go page by page and read all the B20A information. Also read YK86's post at the top on his swap.

:barf: According to my sheet you would only gain about 8 horsepower. Is that worth the effort? You could get simmaler gains with a carb swap a cam and headers

with a header and cam and carb u would have way more than 8 more HP so the gin wouldnt be SIMILAR! and i think the B20 has a little more HP than that!

:pimp: the b20a has 100hp at 5500 rpm, the stock engine in your accord dx (bs) has 98 hp at 5500 rpm. if you want a small gain the bt series has 110hp at 5500 rpm The b20b has 126 hp at 5400 rpm. It's also fuel injected so it would take a lot of work and wiring to make it work

i don't think B20A has 100hp, it has 160hp.
plus he has DX which means he has carb. it will take him forever to fit that engine plus he would have to make it run on weber or some side drafters.

 I have the engine charts right in front of me and all of the information is correct the b20a3 is rated at 100 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 107tq@4000rpm. Remember horsepower is great but torque is just as important. All the 2.0s have a great deal of torque. Compare the bs engine in my dx at 98hp@5500rpm, but now look at the torque figure 110tq@ only 3500 rpm. compare this to the b16a which is 160hp@7800 rpm and 111tq7300 rpm. My little accord engine produces almost as much torque as the b16a but without beating itself to death doing it and well within a usable power band

Ok... The b20a5 is a prelude engine rated at something like 135hp which IS NOT 160hp like the JDM b20a. You would be drunk attempting a b20a5 swap.

yes... jdm b20a that will fit 3g accords is rated at 160ps... it's from jdm 3g accords and jdm 2g preludes... b20a3 will not fit very easily... a5 will be just as hard to fit... a5 is rated at 135hp and 115tq (i'm not sure on the torque)... if you are determined to fit an engine from a 3g lude in, you should go with the jdm b20a for a 3g lude, 8hp and 18lbs ft. tq difference from the a5... CR for the jdm is .4 higher than the a5...

Is this a B20a engine? and if it is, is it 160 HP? how much it cost?

i'm not sure how much it costs, but yes, that looks like a 2g lude/3g accord jdm b20a, and yes, it should have 160ps... the much more common, and less powerfull, jdm b20a has 143 hp, and is a replacement in a 3g lude... my engine will look similar to that in the pics, but will be canted back as instead of forward like that one is... MAKE SURE THE ENGINE YOU GET IS CANTED FORWARD!!! if it's not, it's the wrong engine and it won't fit...
