 Ok i got my short ram civic intake today and now i want to know what to do next. I know i have to cut 4in. off and thats it. I want to know if i have to do anything else when installing this intake since its not made for our cars.
Do i need one of those breather filters or not? If anybody can help me this would be great. Thanx

take all the stock intake piping off... and install the intake .. make sure everything is nice and tight... you dont need one of those little breather filters...just use the hose that comes with the intake

Don't just cut 4" off...measure it yourself by putting the intake on and cut the amount you need.

Well, be careful of what kind of air filter you will put on because some of the filters could really mess up your brake lines. About the breather, it's really up to you, but I'd say go for it cuz that's what I did.

here's a pic of my intake
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid33/pb323f2219f4c181e244a70ed7716ea65/fd394de6.jpg
see on the intake, it has that yellow tube coming out of it. And then on the valve cover ro the right of the oil cap, there's the black hose coming out of it. Well those two hoses connect in the middle. You can get a breather filter instead of having that hose, it's just a tiny air filter that goes onto the valve cover where the hose comes out, you won't need the hose if you get that. Personally, I like the tube better than the breather filter.

Well you couldn't really see much from the pic I posted so I went out and took some more, here's a better close up of the tube you need to put on from your intake to the valve cover

lol its the yellow tube that is comming off the intake ... .. you could use a little breather filter instead of the tube ...but i like the tube better ....it goes from the intake to the hose that is attached to the valve cover

thats it the yellow tube, so if i dont want the yellow tube i put a breather filter and what do i do with the hole on the intake

i would def put something over the hole to prevent any dirt getting in there.... any air that gets threw that hole wouldnt be filtered...put a cap on it or sometihng

use some gum...
It will look GHETTO but it will work. Until it gets sucked in. then you are screwed.

Yes that is an old pict of my engine bay but it is best to conect a longer vacume tube to your intake as you will not need to buy a breather and that way you can keep the pcv system intact the way it should be.

o nonono, hehe i put the PCV (PVC? i forgot) tube on, i know that one hehe.

im talking about the vacuum lines that come out from the upper left part of the engine bay, 2 of those goes to my stock intake pipe.

Yea you should drill holes in your intake insert some grommits and attach those little tubes.

ok, i was thinking about cutting out and using the adapter from the stock pipe, drill to holes on the new pipe, and put the adapter from the inside of new pipe sticking the thru the 2 holes, problem is, im not sure if that's safe, cuz it might slip off and fly into my TB.

and also, would it mess up the car if i just seal them off? instead of putting it back on the intake.

and i also just found out there's ANOTHER lil tube that goes into the stock filter box, i left that open too? and i have no idea wut to do with that one.

I have used the stock adapters on other intakes I just applied some silicon glue to hold it in place.

well if i was you I wouldnt leave the 2 vacuum lines on the left open because the are connected to your intake for a reason. not for looks... the one on the right I can tell you doesn't do shit(at least on my car) but I wouldnt let any dirt or anything keep gettin sucked up the other ones. (do the 2 lines have their own vacuum or do they use the airflow from the intake to suck?)
