So i'm reading my Import Tuner mag, and i see Sun Auto HyperGround wires. they added anywhere between 5-13 hp gains! and they are only $100. anyone ever looked into this?

They might give you a little more power if you're grounds now are pretty bad (which is understandable with a 14-17 year old car), but you can just buy some thick wires and do the same thing for a lot cheaper. But it really depends on who you talk to, some people think it's completely worthless, others claim they notice a big differance.

yeah DO NOT buy those! that is a HUGE waste of money! just use some thick wire (kind used for car audio amplifiers) or you can buy grounding straps at auto and farm stores.

Ground wires does not make you gain HP!!!!

How would thicker ground wires increase HP?

more HP from a ground? man your ground would have to be real bad, lol, and how exactly would that work? the only thing i could really think of is if your not getting a good charge and your coil is weak......that sounds like a big rip off

umm, i saw it on import tuner power pages. they took a suzuki aerio (a newer model, i'm not sure of the year because the mag is at work) but they dynoed the car. and then installed the new wires and dynoed it again. they gained 5 hp. they said that on other applications they gained up to 13 hp.

and why would import tuner have to lie for. it wasn't sun auto advertising their product. it was the magazine talking about a part they installed on one of their cars and the power gain they got from it.

Thicker wire= less resistance.

less resistance= more power.

more power= what this forum is all about.

and for 5 hp, $100 is very worth it.

it is NOT a noticable and dynoable power. In my opinion, its just a waste of 100 bucks.

tell the guys at import tuner that. it gained like 2.7 ft/ lbs in torque too.

audio cable is good shit, its gotta protect against Signal noise, more so than a ground i would imagine

power cable made for car amplifiers would do the same thing (4, 2, 1/0 AWG) It is designed for maximum current transfer. It would probably flow better than those ground straps. Also, you can get the same grounding straps at any auto parts store in many different sizes for $2-$5

Is it really worth $95 for cool looking ground cables? Either way, if you end up trying them out, let us know. I think it really depends on the car, I know rx7's have gained as much as 15 hp on the dyno with ground wires, while other cars haven't gained anything. I'm curious to see how well they work on the 3g.

i was joking ryan. i'll start looking into different ground wires though. i know it'll make a diff because i have the same rusty ass one that came with the car.
