any ideas?

oh...btw if i let the car warm up fully, and drive around town it doesn't do it, its only if i drive it for a long period of time (30+ min)

does it go to 600 and then goes back to normal , or keeps at this idle !
BTW this belongs to technical section !

If it is rough like it is not firing on all cylinders, try replacing the spark plugs ...

I had that problem, but then it got cold here up in Michigan. My idle then would idle too high and tend to bounce from 1000 to 1500 rpms. I would suggest checking/adjusting the cold start valve (I think thats what it's called, and then adjust your ilde screw. I have not had either of the problems I was having since I did that.

Heres a thread with more info on that matter...

well it doesn't bounce it just idles between 500-600 steady. i think its rough just because its reving so low, anyway i think that valve is for EFI cars, i'm runin' the ole carb. Could it be a fuel delivery problem?

HELP its getting worse!

yeh my car also has that same problem now... it runs fine when I start it up but when it warms up completely and I go into neytral the rpms just drop almost to a complete stall and if I brake too much at a time then it will just stall anyone know whats wrong???

it kinda sounds like it could be a fuel filter and the line is partially getting clogged and your not gettin enough fuel? when i had my '87 LX-i the filter was bad when i got it and it would idle so low that it would stall. i'd have to wait 10-15 min for the crap in the lines to go back down before the car would even start again(i could still pop the clutch). i replaced my filter, no problems afterwards.

might as well check the pcv valve while you're at it.
