So I'm planning on bying a carb from a junk yard for $40, re-building it, putting it onto my car. The only question I have is: If it has been flipped (the carb has already been removed by the junkyard folks, and I dunno what they know), will my re-building it fix it?

Thanks,

P.S. Plan on documenting the process. But that'll start later today/tomorrow.

Well if you want it to run like it used to go ahead and re-build it. Otherwise buy a WEBER!!!!!!! Mine isn't tuned right yet and I still have a shit load more power. I that's your best bet. www.carbsunlimited.com and say that TopEnd Peformance has there weber 32/36 for $339 and carbsunlimited will give you a price of $330 ( I got mine for $330)

ok, i have fliped stock carb millions times, and it still runs just fine.
if you gonna rebuild it, make sure you clean everything very good.

flipping the carb dosent ruin it ...why dont you just rebuild the one thats in your car now instead of spending 40 bucks?

Afraid of fuckin' up. But I'm considering it now, since the one that the junkyard has is damn dirty looking. But... hmm.... Afraid I won't have a clue how to adjust/tune the thing once I rebuild it, is the only thing.

But I might go for it, once I get a rebuild kit. Tired of Kragen telling me I've a 3-bbl carb.

Thanks,

Well, I got the kit today, the only part that I think I might have problems with is the fast idle adjustment... since I don't have a tachometer... but... I'll start on the project tomorrow, will start a new thread and page documenting the process :)
