I have a 1987 Honda Accord lxi 2.0l. Idle fluctuates, pgmfi light comes on after a period of driving. ecu blinks a code 12. Has a supper rough ideal that shakes the whole vehicle and steering wheel(when in drive), and as has a major loss in power when the car is driving flat or elevated surfaces just after warming up.

Download the manual (http://geminiwebhosting.ca/1989AccordServiceManual.pdf) and go through the troubleshooting sequence for a code 12, EGR, starting on p. 12-79. The manual is for the '89 model year. We don't have anything for '87, so you'll have to make do.

I have a 1987 manual, so if you run into something that doesn't match up with what you see, let me know and I'll try to get you what you need. It's still in book form so I cannot scan the entire thing unfortunately.

I had a chance to look this weekend got a vacuum pump. I got a ways down the EGR flow chart and I cant seem to find the cvc valve past that on the flow chart is all the electronics so i might have to take it to Honda (my wallet hurts thinking about that).
