i think you can acctually fit anything back there with a little modification...i think the owner before me had 8" in the back deck...but if it dont fit...you could always cut the metal!

you could get those boxes off crutchfield that hold 6x9s.

No No. go to the back trunk, rip out the stock speakers and caps. cut 6 x 9 ovals in the spaces between the middle seperator in the trunk. you will know once you take a look underneath. just cut that carpet for those and drop your 6 x 9's in there, make sure to face the super tweeter closest to the glass so it bounces off and fills the car, trust me, i do lots of stereos.

YESYESYES you can, wallyyfm says it right, just check out my post on my 6by9 setup and youll see, i have my 6.5 where they were and i have the 6by9's near the middle area in which you can cut when you check underneath in the trunk. very easy. have fun with this one

I have stock 6x9's in my 87 accord...but when I bought some new infinity's they are too big!! Is there a special size I need to get to fit? Or if I try to cut what do I use to cut the metal??

i have 6X9's in my ride and they just drop right in. no cutting needed. it even has the screw holes for the speakers. well, at least thats how it was when i bought the car, so maybe it was previously modded?

most accords except SE-i's didn't have 6 x 9's

MY car has only the 6.5" speakers in it. When I get the money I will put some 6x9 in the rear deck along with some component 6.5" in the front. Some of my friends said I should put a 6x9 in the rear seat where the arm rest folds down. I might do it but I'm not to sure if it will be worth it.

I actually have found lots of lx-i's that have 6X9's in them.

Ahhh, fixed the problem. My 87 accord lx came factory with 6x9's, but they were real flat and fit snug. With a little grinding I got my infinity reference 6x9's to fit!!! They sound awesome.

Alpine head unit
fosgate 250 4 channel
fosgate 360 bridged in mono
2 Bostwick subs in a sealed box
2 pioneer 3 way 6.5 (front)
2 Infinity reference 6x9;s (rear)
xm satellite
remote
tdk cd burner 32x
What else do I need?

Maybe a electronic cross over. hmmm

hold up, watch out for it, i put in kappaz all round, if ur gonna get spkrs that big, u will have to litterally bang out the metal to match it. i got lazy and jus put it underneath, still get a lot of sound, but the prob is i get a lot of rattlin and lose a lot of sound to the trunk. im gonna fix it once i get a system into the car. same wnt for the front. i had to throw away the pods in the front, damn magnets were too big.....hehe mad rattlin ther too.....

btw, the spkrs make my head dim, and at times shut off, it makes me wonder if i should jus get a cap and amp fo the spkrs themselves

Hey I know what you are talking about with the rattling. I just have some Infinity references and the rattling drives me crazy. I'm going to make some custom brackets that can take some more abuse!!:super:

I have the same problem with my low powered system(4 speakers and really small amp), just upgrade the grounds and/or the battery and your stock electric system should be good for a up to 400watt amp and 4 speakers. At least this is what most people on this board told me to do, for now I just deal with the major dimming.
