Hi, I'm new to this forum and i have a question.
My 89 Honda Accord LX-i will not start. It died a week ago while my mom was driving it and we don't know what the problem could be.It cranks but will not turn over. I wanting to know if anyone can identify what the problem may be?
It is the 2.0 fuel injected engine.
I posted a video of the sound on youtube.

It could be lots of things. I always check for the basics. 1. fuel system. make sure the fuel pump is working and pumping gas. 2. does it have spark. take out one of your spark plug cables and stick a screwdriver and place it next a ground. it should spark up when cranking. 3. check your timing. you will have to download the manual to find out the timing marks.

Id check the timing belt first. Sounds like it stripped. Pull the top cover off/back and look in there.

I agree with Oldblueaccord, when mine stripped and it sounded just like it. Grab a flashlight to look down into the lower cover, if it looks ok, I would suggest to turn the crank pulley manually, and that is how I saw the stripped part of the belt. If I am not mistaken, rotation is counter-clock .
