My owner's manual (official Honda publication purchased on ebay) indicates aluminum alloy wheels were standard on LX-i Accords. My car, purchased at an auction many years ago, did not have aluminum alloy wheels on it. It had steel wheels and wheel covers.

Derolph, the LX-i's did have an available alloy rim that looks like this:
6762

However since i have owned 3 lx-i's over the years none of them came with those alloy rims i've only had the stock steel rims(even with my current hatch and me being the 2nd owner). My first 89 lxi came with an extra set of SE-i rims like these:
6763

I'm curious to look at my owners manuals for the 87,88, and 89's to see if it says the same. Typically stuff like that is a marked up add on, i wonder if people opted out or the set was replaced due to damaged wheels?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think these were the stock rims on the 88-89 LX-i sedans. They were an aluminum rim, though easily as heavy a steelie. Pity they didn't spec a lighter rim. The coupes still had steel rims with hubcaps.

That seems odd but it explains why my coupe had steel wheels with wheel covers.

My new wheels weigh significantly less than the old steel wheels. I like the the lighter weight.

the 86-87 accord Lx-i had 13 inch alloy wheels for the sedans. not sure if the hatchbacks came with alloy wheels.

All 1986-1989 DX and LX sedans and DX coupes and hatches had 13" steel wheels with plastic covers.
All 1986-1987 LX-i hatches had 13" steel wheels with plastic covers.
All 1986-1987 LX-i sedans had 13" aluminum alloy wheels.
All 1988-1989 LX-i coupes and hatches had 14" steel wheels with plastic covers due to larger front brake calipers.
All 1988-1989 LX-i sedans had 14" aluminum alloy wheels due to larger front brake calipers.
All 1989 SE-i sedans and coupes had unique 14" aluminum alloy wheels due to larger front brake calipers and being a special edition.

All 1988-1989 LX-i and 1989 SE-i models with 14" aluminum alloy wheels had the option for 14" machine-finish aluminum alloy lightweight wheels from the Prelude SI.

Huh, I bought my 1986 LXi Sedan with 13" steel wheels and no plastic wheel covers/hubcaps. The tires were studded so I de-studded them, I wonder if the owner didn't tell me about some alloy rims they had? Shame
