driverside door lock problem

the locking mechanism on my driverside door got jammed on lock, and now i cant close my door, i took off the door panel and tried to fix it, but i cant get to completely unlocked, anyone got any ideas

WD40 and make sure the child safety thing is off. Let the WD40 sit for like 30 minutes and then try it again.

insert it into the latch ( like it was the door pin) pull on the inner door handle and try to pull the rod out ( like you were opening the door ), that should do it....no child safety on the drivers door
