OK, I have a question for anyone with electrical experience.... I have an 89 SE-i automatic and the shift position indicator for "D4" in the dash does not light up most of the time EXCEPT when it's very very cold out. All the other Indicators light, EXCEPT once in a while the "P" indicator will not light when I park the car and then I can't turn the ignition off either. I checked the connector and shift sensor at the shift lever and everything seems to be making good contact and is clean.:werd:
Does this mean I have to pull the dash to find the bad/loose connection??

Thanks in advance for any help, Brad

Hmm id check 2 things, maybe the selector switch at the shifter is bad, try taking it apart and jimmying it to see if it works. Also if i were you id pull the cluster apart to get to the leds behind the PND4D32 lights and look for bad solder joints. I had a few in my clock that were bad solder joints.

Well, it sounds like i'll have to pull the dash and guage cluster then. I already had the shifter apart and cleaned and checked all the connections on the selector switch. Maybe it's a good time to order reverse indiglo white guage faces and do that upgrade at the same time. My concern is the "P" Park indicator, if no power goes to that from the switch, I can't get my key out of the ignition.

Well I would talk to A20A1 and if you want to sell your SE-i console I will buy it from you and send you an LX-I console to replace the one you have. PM me if you want to sell it.

I wish I had a 6th gear. That would be sweet.

Travis,

I've driven the car for almost a year without the "D4" light but just recently the "P" light has started acting up. Without that indicator getting power for what ever reason, the ignition will not unlock and allow me to take my key out or turn the power off in the car. That is my real problem.
