ok i am from way back, i read the forum and never posted. I remember you guys and i'm shocked to see that all of you are still here.

any how i have a new method for making your taillights clear. Back in the day you guys use to break the taillights with a chizel. Now i read a while ago the you have been using warm water. Well i am here to say this : You can also put them in the oven  Yes it works most cars, so i assume even the 3g.

First take off the taillights and remove the bulbs. Then place in over and set temp to 300 degrees fareinheight (sp?) for 6 minutes. i have some pics i will post a lil later on.

Any how i havent checked the board lately so tell me if i have already stated the obvious.

YEAH, I PRETTY MUCH USED THE SAME CONCEPT BUT I USED A HEAT GUN. I WAS AFRAID TO PUT IT IN THE OVEN BECAUSE OF THE FRAME MELTING OR SOMETHING

guys 2 tell you all the truth. I think that clear lights do not look good on our cars. I thinkthat we are better off with painting them red. Sorry don't mean to piss anybody off just giving my opinion

isnt that red car actually a eagle talon? looks like it. and i thought mitsubishi made the 4 cylinder chrysler engines from what the dealership always says. hmm.

Yep, that red car is a Talon, but, like chrysler said, the GS and RS Eclipses, along with the lower model Talons all came with the same mopar motor. The GSX and GST, and TSi and TSi AWD all came with the DSM 4 banger. Triiikkkky, I know, but hey even that little 140 hp mopar engine has a bolt on turbo kit that is readily available. Not just that, but that's not a bad engine to begin with. However, the DSM engine has been know to put out some rediculous reliable horsepower. www.pruvenperformance.com

hold up....
k, i thought the talons were by mitsubishi. cuz when i check engine oil at my work for the talons, all of em say the engine is by mitsubishi, that would make it basically an eclipse.
even the dodge colts and the 2000GTX, and the stealths have the mitsubitshi engine in em.

Think about the name DSM, does it seem to describe what the Mitsubishi emblem looks like? Maybe that's just coincidence, but that's what I always thought about to have it make a little more sense to me.

how does the oven turn red tails clear ?

i dont understand

Defiant[YD]

no, the oven does not turn the red tail lights clear.
it just heats the plastic so that u can prolly "peel" it off. this would allow u to install the already cut and bent plexiglass material, that would make ur tail lights clear. yasu has a how-to on installing that stuff. but this is just another way to TAKE OUT the red/ember plastic cover on ur stock taillight.

OK OK OK ...... I can't seem to find this "yasu" fellow, and I can't seem to understand the whole clear deal.... is it like making the front bumper blinkers clear? or is it like a plastic "sticker" like sheet that is on the back of the lights that you peel off or what??????
