Legacy = garbage

:wave:

Want to have some fun with it? Grab a video camera, and go out in your garage and hook it up to an electrical socket. The sub will play a 60 Hz tone with several thousand watts going into it. It's really quite entertaining.

a how-to on how to play with wall sockets. dont try this at home kids

Take like an old lamp cord, that plugs into the wall normally with the prongs, but has two bare wires on the other end. Wrap the bare wires around the subs wire terminals. Plug the plug into the wall socket. BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP! Smoke, flames, shrapnel, it's all there. Just don't do it around anything flammable.

As long as your house/garage has properly working circuit breakers, you run virtually no risk of damaging anything but the sub.

lol youll smoke the sub. Its better when its in an enclosure, it helps the power handling (somewhat).

i put 250 watts to a 8 inch sub that handles 40 watts and it flapped pretty hard for about ten minutes... then it stopped workin and let out a horible smell! i felt good knowing i nuked my first VC

yeah but youll get maybe 120w out of their 2000w amp... I have seen more than a few kids smoke legacys (literally)

DAMN AccordEpicenter... those had to be HUUUUUUUGE blunts!!!! :lol :lol

Yeah, Legacy is essentially crap incarnate. If you want some cheapo-brand amps that actually work very well, go for Lanzar Opti series amps. They put out rated power! But they've got crappy crossovers and no on-board fuses so you have to have an inline fuse with them.

I agree, the Lanzar opti's are decent, ive had good sucess with profile, but anything like Pyramid or Urban audio or any other crap like that (like legacy) is just not worth the time or money. The crossovers on my 1200d are actually really nice (subsonic and low pass)... like 24db/ octave... how can you get any better than that?
