sunroof switch,no sunroof

In my '87 lxi hb, I have a sunroof switch in my dash but I don't have a sunroof. Did the lxi's come with the swiches even if you didn't have the sunroof, or did someone down the line put in another dash?

Maybe they were using the switch for something other than a sunroof?

See if the vins on the dash plate (drivers side by the window) match the ones with the one on the firewall. That will tell you if they swapped dashes. Someone could have lost the cover to it and put a dummy switch in there just to fill the hole too.

when I was driving today, I started looking at the vin and thinking the same thing. The vin however is the same and it doesn't seem to have been altered in anyway. I'm going to pull it tomorrow to see if it has any wires connected.
