I forgot how many quarts

how many quarts of oil? i think it is 3?

and how many quarts of trans fluid? i think 4 ?

don't know about trans, but engine is 3.2 quarts.

trans is 2.4, BUT you fill it until the oil pours out...

i though 4qts was for the engine?

thats for a 5 speed. i dont know ANYTHING about auto tranny. :)

The book says engine is 3.7 quarts, however 4 is easier and works fine. I don't know about the trannys though..

Auto tranny refill for 86-89 Accord is 3.2 qts. It's been my experience that when you drain them, all that drains out is 3.0 qts. and my tranny is always full when I drain it.

If it's an auto tranny, drain on a flat surface.

man are you joking ?? if the book says 3.7 , so you shouldn't put more ! this will cause a leak around the oil seals and will be a stress in the oil pump !!

DON'T OVER FILL THE OIL ( more than the recommeneded )

Take a look at the back cover of your owners manual!!!

It tells it all...for those of you who are lazy I will type it out.

Engine Oil : 3.5 liters (3.7 us quarts)
Manual Transmission Oil : 2.3 liters (2.4 us quarts)
Auto Transmission : 3.0 liters (3.2 us quarts)

for a manual tranny what type of oil do i use .. im not quite sure and i just changed my cv joint and needless to say im lacking some.

10w30 motor oil. Sounds funny but thats what it takes. For the 5 speed. I thought it was gear lube I had to use but found out it was regular motor oil.
