View Full Version : how do I swap into b18a1?

My 87 lxi had an a20a1 and I started a b18a1 swap with a friend but the wiring seems to be tricky who's done this Im lost and my friends out.

At least you are on the right website. you will have to run a custom harness. depending on what kind of ecu you have you will have to do your own wiring.

The wiring is easy.

- Install your A20A wire harness on the B18A1.
- Add the missing wires and plugs on your current harness. Source them from the B18A1 harness.
- Use a an OBD-0 ecu or get a conversion harness for an obd1 ecu

I did that and I found out some wires and connectors had to get fixed. I was having problems with my wiring so I went ahead and I got my self a brand new OBD1 harness and will relocate all the wiring from the sturt tower to go inside the car to the passanger floorboard like the civics and integra ecu location. I will post pics after the 3geez meet when I will take the car apart.
