which rear brakes?

what some rear brakes for the 89 accord that works well but arent expensive? i dont want to spend too much cuz i owe my dad over $400 (its a long story...) whenever i come to a stop they are always squeeking i hate it... thx

god damnit the people at meineke said i only have like 5-10% left on the pads in the front, thats probably why im squeeking, but before i bought my car peo-le had wierd stuff on the brakes that dont fit right, now its going to cost me $617 to get brakes and shoes and rotors and everything like that grrr

i rebuild my front brakes last summer and it cost me like $175. Except i bought cheap pads and they ate my rotors. i am getting brembo rotors and nissin pads this comming summer.

Well, brakes are expensive on any car. That includes our wonderful Honda Accords. Go figure. This car was sold as an economy car and the parts are pretty expensive.

As for the brakes, you can settle on some cheap aftermarkets brake elements. I saw someone advertise front brake pads & discs for $40.00 on Ebay. If you want to go with the factory stuff, which I recommend (currently have aftermarket brakes and will never ever purchase them again, complete crap).

Front Discs $60 (Each)
Front Pads $55 (Front Axle Set)
Rear Shoes $45 (Rear Axle Set)
Rear Drms $68 (Each)

I wouldn't worry about the rear drums too much. I usually get wear to sets of front brake pads before I have to change the shoes. If you want a quick fix, just install the front brake elements. They do the majority of the work anyways. By the way, let's hear the story about you owing your father $400.00. Brakes are not that difficult, just get yourself a Haynes or Chilton manual and take your time.
