Hey guys!

It's kinda my first post in here so don't eat me if i get sth wrong :) YES I used the search function and I couldnt find anybody so clumsy to do what I did...

I've got my 89 Accord Sedan and it seems that my ignition coil is broken, thus the car won't start up. I know that I needed to buy TC-03A coil, but accidentally I ordered TC-04A. I wonder if somebody could answer, would it work with my car or not. Because I don't want to damage anything, yet the coils look just the same. Looking foward for your prompt answers :)

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the site, and thanks for using the search function. I would return the TC-04A coil and get the TC-03a or look into the how to section for a MSD or other aftermarket coil.

Searching around indeed the two coils look similar, however the primary/secondary winding ratio's may be different.

A TC-04A comes up as a part for late 80's V-6 Legends OEM # 30520PH7006 or 30520-PH7-016

The TC-03A is listed for the accords, OEM # 30500PH1026

Most parts stores while have aftermarket generic coils that will work just fine. I have an msd in one and an accel in another. Just a little basic moving wires around and they work. Not sure if the instructions I found where on here or the box now lol. Like $30 if i remember correctly

Do you have any pictures of the aftermarket coil installed?
