Ok so i bought an 86 lxi hatchback last week, and it has a rough start but once warmed up it runs fine, I figured out where the problem is I just have no idea what the part that is cracked is called. So any help would be awesome.

Pictures or a description of the part would be a good start to getting help.

EGR pipe and EGR solenoid. It's possible that it's creating an intake vacuum leak, but not where that pipe is cracked

You could delete the EGR, unless you're in an emissions strict area. You'll sacrifice a tiny bit of mileage for a tiny bit of power.

Requires removing that pipe and solenoid and blocking the holes they open (make a metal plate for the pipe/intake connection, another plate for the solenoid/intake connection, and find a plug / weld the old plug closed in the exhaust manifold). Basically you'll remove the EGR components and seal up the holes.

Orrrrrrrrrrr you could try and find a new pipe and try and fix it. Iunno, I mainly give up on EGR stuff cause I'm lazy

I just used bolts to plug both ends maybe 5/8". I left the lift valve in place.
