Whats the top speed y'all have hit?

well i tried on the motorway(freeway to u lot)
Downhill it ent off the clock
uphill it wudnt go past 110?
Is there something wrong or is that nomal?
what hav u guys got?

i have reached about 120 flat surface but uphill is a different story...its a 4 cylinder car and you should expect a difference in performance going uphill....

I heard the automatic accords could reach a higher max speed than the five speeds, is it true?

i dont think so, cos with the auto, it swiches into 4th and then just goes to the top of that gear, but with the manual tranny u can knock it into 5th and carry on.
and also, with the auto it dont redline, like u can with the manual.
So i dont think auto's hav higher top speed

I Hit damb near 120 in 4th gear right before I hit 5 th and had to slow down to hit the off ramp.

and u got a carb too, not Injection.

156 thats pretty weak for a bike.......i mean r1's are hitting 175 and the new cbr f4i's are hitting about 186 and the f4i's are only 600cc's. i guess the fuel injection goes a long way though. honda's kick ass.

racin an old prelude...his topped off at about 160- 165km/h i kept goin and got upto 185km/h = 115-117mph

:D Well on the way back from Atlanta twords Alabama I hit 135 mph, but that was down a hudge hill on the interstate,It took a long time to hit that speed. But I am totally stock and carburated!:pimp:

i hit 125 no problem. i could have given it more but i have a bad tie rod end and missing a stud i one of my front tires. stupid huh? that was in my auto lx. now i have a cam, intake, header and putting in a 5 speed. i'll try again later.

I ve done all the teac work on this one... have too much time at auto shop....with auto the fastest you should go is 115 flatground down hill<big hill>130 mph because 4th isnit geared high enough...5spd you can get 120 flatground down hill 125 before you say what the hell is he saying you got to think about how a auto and manu work the auto trans allows freewheel spin and with the 5spd you have to press the clucht in for freewheel spin and you all know what happens when you hit the clucht its a engine break no more speed now if you want to get that fast and hit nos then that is different but when you drop the tran dont cry Ill ship u one for 295.99+s/h my local yard has 3 auto and 2 manuals I love the <yard> free goodies when you get on the level;-)

I pegged the speedometer on my old A20 racing an Eclipse (probably 120+ cause speedometers are never right at high speeds.). The top speed test on the Dyno was 142 with 96hp and 111 ftlbs of torque.

apparently, I have some rare-ass accord... I'll tell you if you ask, but, the fastest I've gone is about 124. I was having a fly-by war with some guy in a civic- since he was a guy, he thought he could surely out-run me. I, in no way, support racing on the streets or highway (this was highway) but I had enough of this guy revving. Oh, and my tires are H rated, so I didnt' want to push it. I can't afford new tires- I spent too much on my Toyo's....

10hrs 1000miles orlando FL to Baltimore Md canon ball run style. stopped for gas and food 4 times you figure out the speed. in a stock dx 5 spd car. it was low milage and well cared for.

We have a place we call the "audobahn" where there is no place for cops to sit, and it's all relatively flat safe road except for one dip and a very gradual curve. Going up the uphill, I can't pass 110, then I peaked right around 120 straight. On a slight downward slope on our way back from a car audio show, the spedometer was way past pegged, shifted into fifth gear at about 125mph (what the spedo said), then went to what I'd estimate to be almost 140 (again, going by the space between 120 and where the needle was)... then there was a bridge and the road got real real narrow and we probably could have died.. just had a flipped lid and a 1.75" straight pipe with SuperTrapp muffler and one turn timing advance (7 or 8 degrees?) at that time... nothing special. About a few months before that, the upper control arm FELL OUT of the fender well while my friend was backing my honda out of a driveway... thank GOD that didn't wait to happen until when we were going well over 120... that would have sucked...

oh... and IMHO, the honda given redline is BS... I always had good power straight through 7500... sometimes ran it to 8 or 9 (no idea past there, the tach only goes to 8) when revving... never past 8 driving I don't think. I was around 7500 in 4th when I shifted during that story, I think.

I know this is a little old thread but...........2 days ago....I took my car to 111 mph .......I was suprised this 87 accord DX *carbed* could do it...........it was still accelerating too........and it is an AUTO! it shifted into its last gear arround 97 in D4.........I was impressed! but I got scared and let off at 111mph I was next to my friend in his 96 Saturn SC1 and his couldnt go past 109........hehe......

Not be an Ass!! But No way in hell you guys were going that fast!! Speedo is not accurate when your pass 80-85...So please keep it realistic! Just because your speedo is hovering over the 120 marker or 220 kh is not really going that fast!

no hes right... first of all i think these things are supposed to be governed at like 110 cuz i used to not be able to go past 110 then all of the sudden i can go past 110. what does that say? maybe the speedo is wrong... yep thats what i think, I did race one of those new neon sxt's on the freeway today... he couldnt pass me but i didnt wanna drive with my car at 5500 rpms for longer than 5 mins so i slowed down THEN he tried to pass me haha, he then got off the freeway probably thinkin to himself "im gonna take this piece of shit back to the dealer, he still had the paper license plate ahhaha" I wont believe any top speeds unless you gps it, especially since my speedo is jumpy too i know it aint perfect.

oh and i have a video of some guys doin a top speed run in their corvette zr1's and their speedo said 180 but their gps said 175... now i know that aint much difference but those are new cars and they are MADE for that kind of shit, i highly doubt your guys' top speeds are accurate as well.

What year of "old lude" did you beat? I have a 91 and my top speed reached about 135 or 140.... even though my rpm's reached around 6500.... you would be surprised... the lude actaully has good pulling power going up a hill also... i was when i first got mine.

Ok, I got a new Cam in the car and Put my DC Sports header back on and the car got up to 133mph. My friend was next to me on his 2003 Honda CBR F4i. He said he was doing 133mph next to me.
