Hello, thanks for having me in the forum. My name is Ben and I reside in St. Petersburg, FL. I'm 28 years old and my first car was a 1986 Honda Accord LX when I was 16. I beat the hell out of it, riced it out, flipped it, and it still kept going. I was a pretty dumb teenager. I sold it to a friend and moved down to Florida. I've built an EJ1 single cam turbo, EF hatch B18C1 swap, and a few muscle car builds. All these years later I still couldn't fill that void with any of those cars. So yesterday I purchased a 1989 Honda Accord LX. I've still got a week before I go pick it up and then I'll post photos. But I test drove it and it runs like a top. I'm quite familiar with the A series motors so I knew what to look for. I'm going to daily it and do very minimum visual and suspension modifications. I'm saving for an Ef sedan currently. So once that purchase is made I plan on building the Accord sedan properly. (In my eyes) I'm focusing on giving the car a mix between the classic 80's JDM look and a bit of Americanization as well. No crazy stance, but well lowered. Possibly a motor swap if I can decide on a capable power plant that would be worth the headache. I am a capable mechanic and I know how to use the search option extensively before asking questions. My end goal is to have two very dependable, well built, 80's model Hondas and attend some shows and events. I hoping everyone here can help me with my build and I can do the same. So excited!!!!! Despite whatever my second car ends up being, this car will belong to me for good. No matter what.

Apologies for the delay, I've been very busy working and then researching everything I can find on this forum. I've had no help with ideas from the "Honda" scene in my area since everyone feels this chassis is a waste of time. I truly don't care, I love this car. The only thing wrong with the interior at all is I'm missing the elbow/arm rest for the center. Everything else is stock, not cracked, and stain free. I'll post more photos in a little while. Also, I've tried ordering stickers from several places and my money has been refunded. Those in search of decals fret no more, I've made my own and they have turned out quite nicely. I'll post photos of those as well. I still have a bit of searching and then some serious Q and A time with you guys. I'm hoping not to get flamed too hard for what I have in mind, but I think it'll work nicely. Just want to have a decent presentation rather than "hey dude, should I do this or this brah?" Thanks

I think I did well for $800. Needs an alternator, valve cover gasket, and a tire. I'm a mechanic and I have a small shop at home and my own dedicated bay w/lift at work so these are not issues at all. I don't have an insane amount of money, but I've put a bit aside for this build.

I'm sticking with the carb for a while to see if I enjoy tinkering with it. It's affordable and involves an old school approach which I kind of like.

Hey, nice to meet you. That's not that far from me at all, cool! I was beginning to think there weren't any Florida 3G's rolling around anymore. Well, that's awesome man if you ever want to hang out and turn some wrenches, let me know!
