:pimp: Hey fellahs, I gots a querstion.... I want to put my Accord on air bags! I want FBSS... the question is, what do I need to do it? I mean, I know what I need, but is there any vehicle specific parts, or will it all have to be custom? I know that trucks on airbags have a section cut out of the bed, and I wouldn't have a problem doing that in my trunk, because it leaks anyway... the only problems I can think of right now, is the tanks... I COULD remove the back seat, and make a custom box to hide them

talk to tk89acc or pearldrop. They've both bagged their cars so they can def. point you in the right direction. Good luck man. Post progress.

You are going to need to run air cylinders. You can buy it all separately to get the exact kit you want but it basically doubles the price of buying it in a kit. I know that through AIM or the Hack Shack you can get a bolt on kit for your car for under $1500. That means no cutting. The tanks are pretty easy to mount in a small area even though I would recommend two three gallons instead of a six gallon (don't go any smaller than five gallons total)
I'm not going to make a complete list because there are a lot of fittings and things you will need to mount everything.
cylinders and mounts specific for your car.
compressor
four valves
air line
switches
air guages
fittings
zip ties
pressure switch
a lot of wire

If I didnt buy my Konis i would think about doing bags or cylinders but dont know much about them other than what i read in other postings. But i have a few questions:

What determinse how low it sits when the car is off and i would imagine you let the air out but is this a pre set height?

And do you guys have camber problems cause im assuming you lift the car to drive it?

Dumb questions but i have never really looked into them and very few people have them that i have seen at local shows. Thanks Rob

alright....thanks for the info.... does the hack shack have a website? wait... I saw an ad in one of my import tuning magazines, but they don't have any shops around here.... Oh well, I'm sure with all the people on airbags around here, SOMEONE will know how to install it!

Most people just drop it all the way when they park. As for driving height there are several different things you can do.
1. not worry about alignment
2. Choose a ride height that you like and mark the pressure on the air guages. Then get an alignment at that height. Whenever you have that amount of pressure in the bags/cylinders the car will be at the same height. Sometimes it takes some playing to get the car to the right height because they are so fast.
3. Use regulators and an extra set of valves. That way you can set it up so you hit one switch and the whole car goes to that exact ride height. Then you can get an alignment with camber kit if you want. This is the best way but it costs a lot more.

And the website for The Hack Shack is www.excentrixauto.com
Aim Industries is www.aimind.com (They have a terrible reputation though)
One of the best kits you can get is available from www.brislands.com
I am getting the kit from airlift for my car. It isn't available for 3rd gens yet but the design of the bag (yes bag, not cylinder) allows for it to slip over tokico struts. www.airliftcompany.com

I hope this helps

Thanks for the information. I wish i thought of it before but my syspension is pretty new and probably could sell it easy if needed but i will think about it after the motor and stuff is done.

noooo..... I'm faaaaaar from Canada... I'm from Alabama...... yep... far

Anyway... I MAY not get bags or cylinders, just get it lowered... I'm not sure yet......it depends on if I want to drive it like I do now, or "low-ride"... now I drive like a bat outta hell, and its gonna screw my car up because its completely stock..... I heard that bags are REALLY heavy, so I don't know what I wanna do

My whole box with everything in it weighed twenty pounds. I will bet that if you weigh all four struts and springs it will be pretty close to the same.
Weight isn't the problem.
If you like driving fast and performing very well, then don't get air ride.
It can handle decently well (better than stock) but nowhere near as good as a performance suspension.
Air is for cruisers. It is a lifestyle.

Don't forget about saying reinforce your whole bottom like hydrolics

That isn't necessary unless you plan on hopping it or doing three wheel a lot. I only have front and back on mine and I have adjustable valves that makes it drop slowly so there is really no reason for having it on mine. I don't care about being able to show off. I do it to be able to park the car super low.
