Hi All,

Luckily I was gifted a 87 Accord. Unluckily, the hazard and turn signals stopped working the first time out. My suspicion is that when I un-gunked the hazard switch on the steering column, it caused a fault.

Using this diagram 1987 Honda Accord LX Dash Fuse Box Diagram » Auto Fuse Box Diagram (http://www.autofuseboxdiagram.com/4344-1987-honda-accord-lx-dash-fuse-box-diagram/)

I've checked the fuses and nothing is blown.

What would the next logical thing to look at? I see there is a relay however its on the back of the panel and my guess would the hazard switch is the issue given the build up around the switch.

Anyway, any thoughts on what to do to isolate the problem?

A Honda mechanic once told me that if the hazard switch is bad that your symptom would ensue. He told me that it was good to be sure to use the switch at leats once a month or more to keep the contacts clean. So it would seem your hazard switch is in need of cleaning or replacement. Good luck.

Got it working. Took off the steering column casing and gently cleaned with hazard switch. Must just be a gunked connection.

Great info on rebuilding the combo switch, I've bookmarked for future use.
