Hello everyone,

I just bought my first Honda. It being an 86 Accord. Had a bad tire blowout on the highway the other day due to some hidden dry-rot and it appears to have damaged the fuel delivery neck running from the gas cap to the tank. I'm leaking gas when I fill the tank. Could anyone kindly explain to me the overall layout of the filler neck? On my car there's a hose running from about halfway down the pipe to the tank and I cannot determine if this is the OEM setup or some previous owners idea of a cheap fix. It is dark outside right now and I'm unable to get a good picture currently (I'll upload one tomorrow of the damage) but I'm trying to determine if I need a whole new filler neck pipe or if there is a true hose replacement.

This is the general part I'm working with here:

Thanks alot.

Sounds like you damaged the breather hose that allows air to escape the tank as you fill with fuel.
