Wiring Reverse Lights after Manual Swap

I'm looking for the yellow wire I need to cut to wire in the switch from the trans, so far I know it's in the connector right in front/below the battery. I'm looking at it now and I don't have any straight yellow wires here, only a Yel/Red and a Yel/Grn. Am I at the wrong connector? Do I happen to have a car made on a day the factory briefly ran out of plain yellow?

Sent from my Moto Z (2) using TapatalkFor anybody with our wire scheme that doesn't want to add wire through the firewall, weird right? Mine is a 87 LXi Hatch.

I followed the diagram and saw that a green/black wire goes to the back-up lights from the switch. I found a green/black in the loom with the big connector directly between the passenger headlight and the battery. Tested the wire with reverse selected (I still have the white selector plate switch installed from the automatic) and it had voltage. Cut the wire, extended the reverse switch wires from the manual trans, and connected one wire to each cut end of the green/black wire. I then went back to the auto selector and cut the two for reverse (pink and green maybe) and crimped them together.

Reverse lights work!

That's right

There' s a wire that just does a loop in the connector. You need to cut it and connect it to the transmission switch.
