Use RockAuto.com's "Part Number Search" tab to identify that black box on the firewall or some other mystery part. Even a partial original equipment or aftermarket part number is often enough. Just use "*" for any missing or illegible characters. For example, a search for *339298* will find any part numbers that contain 339298.

Look for the Part Number Search tab at the top of the RockAuto.com catalog or use this link (http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?tab=search) to go directly there.

Dope! A wildcard search is nice. Gonna keep that in mind and give it a try!

Part Number Search

The Part Number Search Tab (http://www.rockauto.com/en/partsearch/?a=2017forum) is the way to look up a part number to identify what the part is and what replacement parts are available. Kathy Fisher from Performance TV and RockAuto's Tom Taylor identify an OE part with just a partial part number.
