So I've adjusted my idle back down to where its supposed to be about 6 times in the past week. Every time I do I'll drive the car for a few hours and then it will suddenly start idle surging again. When I pop the hood and check, my idle adjust screw has backed out to lime I never adjusted it. And it keeps doing this. Is there a retainer that I'm missing or something? This is really frustrating

Have you check your IACV?

There is an oring on the screw, if we are talking about an lxi. It was never available separately unless you bought the screw too.

I usually put a dab of hondabond on the screw after setting the idle to keep this from happening.

Can you put a spring behind it, kinda like they do on carb adjustment screws?

Yes, the iacv is fine. It's brand new. The surging only happens when the idle screw vibrates all the way out. I'll adjust it back. Nice smooth idle for a while and it will slowly climb back to the point it starts surging. Usually around 1200 rpm. Then I'll pop the hood and check, bam!, the idle screw is NOT where I left it. I've never heard of hondabond, I'll check it out
