are the heads for an a20a1 the same as an a20a3? i was talking to someone and they said they might be different due to the valleys that the injectors lay in. the valve guides on my car are goin out and i need to do something, and the only motor i have around is out of an 88 LX mines an 88LXi. think it'll work to rebuild the LX head to swap onto my LXi?

Its the same thing. The cam specs are diferent so you may want to rebuild it with the lx-i cam.

for the mean time could i just put it on my car with my cam? with a new head gasket and all, cuz i know the other motor never smoked...

Shouldn't be a problem. I'd use some plastigage on the cam journals just to make sure they're with in spec, or keep the lx cam with the lx head.

That's nice to hear. I was thinking about doing the wild tri-flo cam regrind.

anyone know what an LX cam in a PGM-FI motor would do? better / worse?

ive run the lxi cams in carb motors a few time. they idle smoother and have more midrange power. thats about it.

lol, so if i had the LX cam in my LXi i'd have less midrange power and a rougher idle?

what about top end? Do the LX cams make the car faster? With my Lxi the top end suffers past 5600 or so, im suspecting the cam, can I improve it with a cam gear and advance/retard the cam?

RedneckRicer......your at it again? I though you were going to trash that car. Oh well. I finally got my car back to running again. It took a long time but it runs. I can't wait to see what it does with nitrous and my new supercharger. I will probably end up having to rebuild the engine again.

lxi cam just runs better all around.

isnt the lx and lxi cams the same thing, yet i know that the compression ratio is higher on the lxi than the lower additions of the model, i would think that an lxi or sei cam would be the best one to use in an a20 no matter if it's carbed of injected

if im wrong..... tell me..... lol
