Hi Guys:

I have an oil leak at the Camshaft seal near the distributor. Would I need to remove the camshaft to replace that seal or can I simply remove the distributor and then pull out the old seal?

On the reinstallation of the distributor, are there any special procedures that I need to take?

Thanks,
Claude

isn't it just an O-ring? all you have to do is remove the distributor.

oh mark the distributors position with the sharp point of a flat head screw driver... like make an allignment mark where the distributor meets the head so you don't have to readjust timing later on.

and maybe coat the O-ring with some fresh oil.

Finally got the chance to replace the o-ring. The damn thing was square shaped, completely brittled and hard. I've seen this stuff on the camshaft seal of an old Supra. Oh well, no more leaks now at least not from that area.
