Question about mods

Ok...heres the deal...I know this is a newbie question and im going to get a lot of shit for this but...I will have around a 1000 bucks in a couple of weeks....what mods can i do except nitrous to bump up hte hp to around 140...
I need some advise to as what path i should take.....I know I can get pulleys...tried to get an intake but the guy at the shop said it was impossible..(dunno why)....I can get headers. but would that be enuff for 140hp

you can too get a intake. just use a 92 civic short ram and chop off about 3-4 inches.

get a header, intake and full 2.25 inch exhaust

then get a cam... if you have no emmisions... get a WILD TRI FLOW!

So I probably have 140 then? Oh crap I don't have cam yet. But I do have weber and straight pipe and that stuff up there. Oh I have a hoodscoop that im going to be installing soon too (over my cone filter)

Yes a short ram is better than stock, but he needs everything he can get if he's to get to 140hp on his budget. Shortrams do not make as much power as a true CAI

hey ill post a pic of my intake area...so you all can help me out with the civic intake thing...cuzz im thinkin about orderin it....
I have a cat back exhaust system but thatz like 2-5hp

get a straight pipe and headers, loud as hell but a nice gain. hehehe my neighbors really hate me now :D

yes very true jim. i was just floating the fact that his mechnic told him it was IMPOSSIBLE.

If my mechanic said something like that to me, they'd lose my business. Any good mechanic will find a way to get what you want.

actually it was a performance shop...anyone heard of twin power....
the guy over there told me that it was possible but i would lose hp rather than gain anything..
tomorrow ill post a pic of my intake area so you all could help me out it its not too much to ask..
