Fan?

I have a 3rd generation 1990 Honda Prelude!!!
Nearly same as Accord!!!
When i turn my car off, the fan stays on for about 5 minutes!
Only when the car is hot...( doesn't happen all the time)
But i have asked mechanics and that they said that model does that!!!
But for that long?
Does anyone know?

I've heard of even our accords doing that. I thought I remember someones stayed on for 20 minutes. I think there's a thread on this subject I'll try and find it.

If that doesn't work then try to do a search like I did for "fans" on the board.

my father's 95 peugeot does that ! it even do it twice after the car has been shut off !

It's so annoying!
Like on HOT days it will stay on for up to 10 minutes....
The only good thing it does is use the battery power up!!!

it's better for the engine to get cooled than just sitting there till it cools naturally ( which takes hella a lot of time)
